Dan Abrams: Cohen Claim About Prosecutors Corroboration Has ‘Got to Make the Trump Team Very, Very Nervous’
ABC News chief legal analyst and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams says President Trump might need to be nervous if Michael Cohen is telling the truth about the evidence against him with regard to their campaign finance lawbreaking.
Abrams joined George Stephanopoulos on Friday to react to his interview with Cohen, where the former Trump lawyer got emotional as he rebuked his old boss for denying any involvement in their hush money scheme. As Cohen and Trump continue to contradict each other, Abrams said it will come down to Cohen’s claim that federal prosecutors have a “substantial amount of information” to back up his argument.
“That’s the big question, what else do they have?” Abrams asked. “When Michael Cohen is saying they have a substantial amount of information that corroborates that he’s telling the truth, that’s got to make the Trump team very, very nervous.”
Abrams went on to say that Cohen’s “dangerous commentary” would be doubly significant if compounded with the recent news that the National Enquirer‘s David Pecker is also turning against Trump.
