Dan Savage: What Gay Couple Would Invite Anti-Gay GOPers to Their Wedding Anyway?

A bunch of Republicans have been asked in recent days whether they have ever or would ever go to a gay wedding. Some said yes, some said no, and Scott Walker said he attended a gay wedding reception, but not the ceremony itself.

Dan Savage found this more than a little strange, and talked with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes about the issue tonight.

And beyond the fact that some of these candidates are siding with the “bigoted Republican base” over members of their own families, there was a burning question Savage just had to ask:

“It really calls the question of why you would invite someone to your wedding who didn’t think that you should have one. It’s like inviting someone to your birthday party who doesn’t think you should have another birthday.”
