Dana Bash to Sanders: Is It Appropriate for Obama to Offer Condolences for a Brutal Dictator?
President Obama has received a lot of criticism for the White House’s official statement on Fidel Castro‘s death. The president’s statement did not directly address the brutality of the Castro regime and got serious criticism for that.
CNN’s Dana Bash asked Senator Bernie Sanders this morning, “Is it appropriate for the leader of the free world to offer condolences of a brutal dictator who killed his own people, as well as Americans?”
Sanders talked about America’s improved relations with Cuba in the past few years and pointed to other brutal regimes that the U.S. still has relations with.
Sanders received some criticism during the primaries for past remarks he made about the Castro regime.
