Earlier today, Kathy Griffin‘s controversial conceptual art–a photograph featuring the comedian posing with President Donald Trump‘s bloodied, severed head–shocked the country.
But that was too little, too late for one co-host of Fox News‘ The Five.
After Greg Gutfeld introduced the Griffin segment and apology, Dana Perino, former White House Press Secretary for the George W. Bush administration, said:
“It’s all contrived…the whole thing is manufactured. Free speech does not mean that it’s free of consequences. And she said, ‘I’m going to stand by my art’ but she’s not. She’s a total wimp. What she actually wanted was to get this picture on there, to have the shock value, create the firestorm, and then be able to do the apology so that she can get a ton of attention. I don’t believe her at all–and I’m actually a pretty nice person.”
