During last night’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, host Stephen Colbert discussed the recently finished third presidential debate, the final debate of this election cycle. Early on in the monologue, the former Comedy Central star touched on Donald Trump’s answer to moderator Chris Wallace’s question on whether he’d accept November’s election results.
Following up a funny little bit which showed the word “rig” on the wall behind Hillary Clinton during the debate, Colbert played a clip of the GOP nominee telling Wallace that he’d keep the country in “suspense” on Election Day following the voting results.
The comic first let Hillary respond for him, showing her say “that’s horrifying” during the debate. He then listened to Trump’s comment once again.
“Oh, suspense! Democracy is going to end with a cliffhanger,” Colbert angrily noted. “I guess, I guess we’re all going to have to wait until November 9 to find out if we still have a country. If Donald Trump is in the mood for a peaceful transfer of power, or if he’s going to wipe his fat ass with the Constitution.”
He followed that up with footage of Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway taking questions about her candidate saying he may not accept the results, showing a scene of Uma Thurman in Kill Bill fighting off dozens of adversaries.
