Dennis Rodman Fires Back at Critics: ‘What Makes Me So Damn Bad?’

Dennis Rodman has a few regrets about his North Korea trips, but still has some choice words for the people who gave him flak for going. In a new interview with ESPN’s Mark Schwarz, Rodman opens up about his grand adventures with Kim Jong-Un and the “narrow-minded” people who didn’t like that he went in the first place.

Rodman said all his critics are being duplicitous, trashing him on social media but not to his face. He argued, At least someone tried, so that’s how I look at it.” He offered that he doesn’t “want to be a hero,” he just wants to do “great things in life,” and people vilifying him just don’t get it.

“I don’t want people to look at me as this––the devil or evil person. If I put anyone in harm’s way, I apologize, you know. If you don’t want me to go back there ever again, I won’t go back.”

He admitted he was perhaps a little curt in his remarks when confronted about North Korea’s human rights issues. And Rodman’s trips to North Korea have inspired a new movie, so there’s that.
