Devin Nunes Tells Fox & Friends ‘We Can Just Burn’ Mueller Report: ‘I Don’t Really Care’ What it Says

Among the now many thousands of responses, replies, hot takes, and reactions to the Mueller report that have accumulated since it was delivered and before it was actually read by anyone, this from Rep. Devin Nunes may be the the most uniquely extreme.

Burn it, he told Fox & Friends on Sunday. Scrap the whole thing.

Before he got to burning the report, though, he first said he doesn’t care about it, and neither should anyone else.

“I don’t really care what the Mueller report says, the Mueller special counsel should have never been appointed,” said Nunes. “And I say that and we can take any part of this investigation and we can show you how fraudulent it is.”

He focused on his issues with the investigation itself, bringing up Andrew McCabe and saying the entire idea of collusion was “a myth” and “a lie.”

Co-host Katie Pavlich asked whether President Trump ought to just declassify everything involved in the investigations, which he has the power to do, and Nunes, said yes, but returned to Mueller bashing immediately.

“You know a lot of people well oh what does this say?” he said, acknowledging that people want to know the outcome before saying to scrap it.

“You know, we can just burn it up,” he said. “I mean, it is a partisan document, so there is going to be a lot of calls for that.”

He again said the real thing to investigate is the investigators. “What we really need to see is what was the FBI’s involvement with fusion GPS,” he said. “I don’t want to gloss over this for the viewers but Fusion GPS was essentially the Hillary Clinton campaign, they were hired by the Clinton campaign so we need to see all of that and need the FISA fully disclosed. We need everyone that Mueller talked to including his interactions with Jerome Corsi who you just had on the show.”

Pete Hegseth asked if there should be a second special counsel to investigate the first, and Nunes said he has faith that Attorney General William Barr to handle it. He also said Republicans intend to make a “criminal referral” in the matter, and that they were waiting for the Mueller report first, which, again, he thinks should be on the ash heap.
