Donald Trump: GOP Candidates ‘Disgraceful’ By Staying In Race Instead Of Getting Behind Romney

During one of his routine Fox & Friends call-ins this morning, Donald Trump took a break from explaining why Mitt Romney should be the Republican nominee to explain why his rivals in the race are “disgraceful” for not getting out already. Trump has been criticizing Rick Santorum for weeks now, finding it personally unbelievable that Santorum believes he can win given his staggering Senate loss in 2006.

Trump endorsed Romney only a few weeks ago, and while the math currently favors Romney in the race, anything is possible at this point. But Trump thinks it’s already game over for the other candidates.

“It’s not game over because nobody gets out. I mean, Rick Santorum, who lost by 18 or 19 points running for the Senate in Pennsylvania, just keeps going and going… what does he have to lose by staying in? So he just doesn’t get out. At a certain point, you have to get behind a person and you have to start going after Obama, not each other. And what the Republicans are doing is disgraceful.”

Trump added that the race is becoming “tedious” because Romney is almost guaranteed to be the winner, and the Republican party is making a mistake by not acknowledging that fact now and moving on to criticizing the president.
