Dr. Birx on Trump Comments: ‘When He Gets New Information, He Likes to Talk That Through Out Loud’

Dr. Deborah Birx addressed President Donald Trump’s comments about disinfectant, defending the president’s thought process and how he takes in the information he’s given.

Friday afternoon, as John Roberts was going over what the president said about disinfectant, he showed a preview of Birx from Saturday’s Watters World in which she had this to say about the president’s remarks:

“When he gets new information, he likes to talk that through out loud. And really have that dialogue. And so that’s what dialogue he was having. I think he just saw the information at the time, immediately before the press conference, and he was still digesting the information.”

Watters previewed the comments on The Five on Friday, saying, “I’m having Dr. Birx on my weekend show, and I actually asked her, ‘You were there, Dr. Birx, do you think the president would say anything dangerous?’… She said no, she said he was probably, as he does, thinking out loud and trying to come up with a good idea. And just talking to the person at DHS.”

Earlier today the president claimed he was being sarcastic — an excuse met with serious doubt even at Fox News.
