Ahead of today’s joint statement, President Donald Trump held a joint appearance with South Korean President Moon Jae-in at the White House and invited reporters in to cover the short event. And during the brief sit-down, POTUS delivered a critique of the gathered press.
“Easy fellas,” Trump exclaimed to the wave of press let in the room. “Hey, fellas, fellas…easy.”
He added, “You guys are getting worse.”
After commenting that “they knocked the table down,” POTUS then commented to Moon that it was “actually a very friendly press.” However, he still wanted it to be known that “we just lost the table.”
The two leaders then delivered some prepared remarks to the media before the press was shooed out of the room. And it appears that things got a bit rough when those reporters were asked to leave:
appears reporters were, as @PeterAlexander just put it, “roughed up” on the way out of the oval office. think i heard one say “assaulted”?
