Ed Schultz Uses Hannity’s Interviews with 2016ers to Slam Limbaugh’s ‘Dying’ Influence

Ed Schultz touted Sean Hannity‘s big interviews with 2016 Republican candidates to take shot after shot at what he deemed the waning influence of Rush Limbaugh on the right.

Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio all did hour-long interviews with Hannity following their respective announcements, and Schultz snarked that this must mean Limbaugh’s influence on the Republican Party is dwindling. He said, “Republicans have figured out that Limbaugh isn’t the player he used to be.”

From there, Schultz and his guests continued to pile on Limbaugh. Comedian John Fugelsang said that the candidates are going to Hannity because for any conservative who’s been wrong about a whole host of issues, “Uncle Sean Hannity’s gonna give you a nice little IV drop of denial.” Media Matters’ Angelo Carusone said that Hannity is not as “venomous” as Limbaugh, but he’s “much more hyper-partisan.”
