Eric Bolling ripped John Oliver on Wednesday’s Fox News Specialists over the HBO host’s recent commentary on the latest terrorist attack in London.
Oliver had objected to coverage that said the UK is “reeling” or “under siege” after the attack, saying, “To say it’s under siege and that its people are reeling is to imply that it’s somehow weak enough to be brought to its knees by three monumental assholes.”
“John Oliver, just because you have a British accent doesn’t mean you speak for average Brits anymore,” Bolling said, “because I have spoken to them, and they are worried about the can of worms Europe has opened — and emphasis on worms.”
The Fox News host bluntly added, “Hey, John Oliver, Mr. regular Brit, your limo is waiting outside the HBO studios; the driver has the door open; and your security detail is ready to escort you. You a regular Brit? Not bloody likely.”
Moments earlier, Bolling launched his attack on Oliver: “Understand this, John: being stuck on stupid, pretending everything is okay, isn’t proud or British or tough. It’s just what I said: it’s stupid. So your fake outrage, invective comments, getting a few laughs from the audience, won’t fix the problem. Political correctness went wrong in Europe, and became deadly.”
After his “not bloody likely” jab at the liberal HBO personality, the Fox News Specialists host turned to his panelists for their takes. He acknowledged that he had been “a little bit harsh on John Oliver,” but then repeated his “deadly” point about political correctness.
Pastor Darrell Scott, a guest panelist, seconded with Bolling’s anti-PC stance: “You can’t be so politically correct that you’re socially incorrect. And that’s what’s going on right now.”
Eboni Williams underlined that “it’s not a political conversation anymore. This is a matter of survival at this point.”
