Eric Trump bragged on Fox & Friends this morning that President Obama‘s upcoming trip to Louisiana probably would never have happened if his father didn’t put pressure on the Commander in Chief over the state’s torrential downpours last week.
Donald Trump and Mike Pence appeared in the Pelican State on Friday amidst flood-relief efforts, and the mogul didn’t hesitate to go after the president for not leaving his vacation to head there himself. The Trump scion acknowledged that Obama might not have been able to do much while the floods were still happening, but then ripped into him over his golf course photo-ops and for supposedly not caring about the disastrous situation.

“Your government should be there in a natural disaster, and it wasn’t,” Trump said. “Quite frankly, if my father didn’t go down there and he didn’t put the pressure on him, Obama wouldn’t be down there…When there is a problem, when there is a natural disaster, when there is an issue, my father will be the first person there.”
Obama’s critics have been hounding him for the last few days by saying that he really ought to have left Martha’s Vineyard and made a stronger move to address the devastation by now. The state’s Democratic governor initially asked political figures to stay away until the immediate emergency abates, and Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson has been addressing the disaster ahead of Obama’s trip tomorrow.
