Former senator John Edwards is trying to have his trial delayed (again), this time citing an undisclosed medical issue. CNN’s Erin Burnett sat down with network legal contributor Paul Callan (And with a bottle of booze on her desk. Get it, girl.) to discuss this latest wrinkle in the case against Edwards.
Callan explained that Edwards’ legal team is essentially asking for more time to review numerous documents in preparation for the trial, adding that “oh, by the way,” their client is suffering from some sort of ailment.
When Burnett asked if the type of illness would make any difference, Callan quipped, “Well, I’m betting he’s not getting a vasectomy. However, if he had done so, perhaps he wouldn’t be facing these charges.”
