Even Fox & Friends’ Brian Kilmeade Thinks Trump’s Military Parade Would Be ‘Waste of Money’
President Donald Trump’s idea to have a grand military parade, squeezing tanks and rows of troops onto the narrow streets of Washington D.C., has gone over like a really expensive lead balloon, with folks on both sides of the aisle dismissing the notion.
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) called it a “fantastic waste of money to amuse the president” and even freedom caucus member Rep. Dave Brat (R-VA) wasn’t fully on board, telling CNN’s John Berman that he doesn’t like “spending money.”
You can add Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade to the growing list of folks concerned over how much this display of American military might would end up costing taxpayers.
During a short discussion on the parade this morning, Kilmeade told fellow hosts Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt that it seems wasteful.
“I don’t know,” he said. “It seems like a waste of money.”
This came after Doocy tried to put a positive spin on Trump’s need for grand spectacle, saying “There are a lot of people at the Pentagon who would love to show off all of the equipment.”
After Kilmeade’s comments, however, the gang did a quick pivot to last week’s Rep. Devin Nunes memo, which is now being called the “FISA abuse” memo.
