Former Republican congressman and ex-presidential candidate Tom Tancredo has a new PAC called “Stop Chris Christie.” Take three guesses what its goal is.
Yep, Tancredo wants to stop Christie, arguing he’s no true conservative. This also just happens to be personal for Tancredo, because it appears that the Republican Governors Association and its head, Christie, quietly helped out Tancredo’s opponent in the Colorado gubernatorial primary and backed attack ads against Tancredo.
Tancredo appeared on MSNBC last night and told Lawrence O’Donnell that Christie is “trying to contort himself” into a strong conservative and that just doesn’t match up with the kind of person he is.
He also found it “bizarre” that the RGA would attack a Republican and noted that the candidate who beat him lost anyway. And WaPo‘s Robert Costa agreed that Christie and the RGA “seemed to stumble” in Colorado this year.
Tancredo told O’Donnell that he’s going to be where Christie is and let voters in primary states know who Christie is, specifically highlighting his views on immigration.
