Ex-GOP Rep. Supporting Trump: Yes, He Should Release His Tax Returns

Joe Walsh might be a supporter of President Trump‘s, but during an interview today with MSNBC’s Katy Tur, the former congressman expressed some of his concerns about how the administration is doing so far, like on health care.

“Republicans are getting hammered,” he said, “and it’s odd, Katy. There’s no leadership at all from the White House.”

They also discussed the special election in Georgia tomorrow, where Democrat Jon Ossoff could potentially win. Walsh said, “I’ve got to tell you something, Katy, my side is in denial. They’re in freaking denial. They don’t understand what’s going on out there.”

He said that Republicans need to be careful about underestimating and/or outright dismissing liberal protests the same way Democrats did with the tea party movement:

“If Donald Trump and the Republicans continue to push this narrative, that this protest movement on the left isn’t real, it’s going to overtake them. They’re going to lose next year.”

Walsh also told Tur that as a Trump supporter, he believes the president should release his tax returns, because this issue may “come back and bite him in the butt.”
