Ex-Mizzou Player T.J. Moe: Prez Resigning ‘Ridiculous,’ Like Removing Obama Over Shootings

Ex-University of Missouri football player T.J. Moe has been speaking out this week about how “ridiculous” it was for students to push out the president and said that’d be like pushing out President Obama over shootings.

Amid the protests that led university president Tim Wolfe to resign yesterday, Moe tweeted out his thoughts about the matter:

He said in an interview that the situation is ridiculous, and explained on CNN today that taking the president over a few incidents of racism would be like removing Obama or state leaders from their positions because of shootings.

Moe told Brianna Keilar he didn’t think Wolfe did anything to warrant being fired and said just because he might not have said the words protesters doesn’t want to hear should mean he deserves to go.

He said that right now we’re living in “probably the least racist time in history,” but for big reasons race is still an issue. Moe mentioned that he’s been getting blowback for his tweets from both black and white people.
