A former Under Secretary of State said on MSNBC tonight that Turkey and other recent international horrors shows the importance of steady leadership in the White House this campaign season.
Wendy Sherman first noted the irony of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan engaging on social media amid the coup when he has been very involved in crackdowns on social media.
But she also said, “As we look at all of the events of the past days, that steady leadership––looking ahead to our own electoral cycle––and where we are in the presidential campaign, not a time for beginners, Chris.”
Chris Hayes agreed that it’s a “sobering reminder of the stakes at play here.”
