Family Uses Man’s Obit to Tell People Not to Vote for Hillary Clinton

“In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children,” concludes Larry Upright’s obituary. “Also, the family respectfully asks that you do not vote for Hillary Clinton in 2016. R.I.P. Grandaddy.”

The 81-year-old passed away in Cabarrus County, North Carolina last Monday. To be clear, it was not his dying wish; the decision to include it in his obituary was made by his daughter. “He was very passionate about politics and probably passed a little of that on, so it was natural for me to think about that,” his daughter told WSOC-TV, adding that her father was a lifelong Republican.

The obit was posted on the funeral home’s website, where well-wishers assured the family that Clinton would not, in fact, be getting their vote, even if “she were the only one running.” Sounds like Upright’s dying wish should have been for a Martin O’Malley candidacy.
