Fox Business Network anchor Melissa Francis recently claimed that CNBC “silenced” her for questioning Obamacare. And on Megyn Kelly‘s show tonight, Francis said executives hauled her in and told her she was being “disrespectful to the office of the president” for questioning it.
For its part, CNBC strongly denied the accusation and called it “laughable” in a comment that Francis found to be too “glib” for such a serious issue. She explained to Kelly that she just kept questioning the idea of how the law won’t cost a dime.
Francis was called into the office, she says, and was told she needed to stop because her criticism was “disrespectful.” Kelly asked if this was about protecting a Democratic president, and while not giving a definitive yes, Francis didn’t completely rule it out as a possibility.
