Fiorina Defends Trump: ‘Of Course Bill Clinton is Fair Game’

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina weighed in on the recent attacks against Hillary Clinton Monday, telling Fox and Friends that Bill Clinton‘s personal history is “fair game” in this election.

Fiorina’s proclamation comes as Donald Trump continues to sharpen his criticism against the former first lady over Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky while he was president. On Sunday, Trump tweeted that Bill Clinton has “demonstrated a penchant for sexism” and alluded to arguments that Hillary Clinton does not support women because she stood by her husband in the heat of these scandals.

Fiorina defended Trump’s statements, insisting, “of course Bill Clinton is fair game––he’s a former president.”

“As I recall, Donald Trump threw George W. Bush under the bus way back in September,” Fiorina noted.

“But, you’re not going to beat Hillary Clinton by attacking Bill Clinton,” Fiorina clarified. “You’re going to beat Hillary Clinton––I’m going to beat Hillary Clinton––by attacking her track record and her trustworthiness.

“Of course she’s going to play the woman card, that’s what she does,” Fiorina continued. “And the way to deal with the woman card is to attack her track record.”

“There are people out there, lots of people––men and women––who think it’s time for a woman president,” Fiorina said. “My message to them will be, ‘How about an honest woman? How about a competent woman? How about a qualified woman?”

“Hillary Clinton, first of all, calls everybody a sexist, and that’s not fair game,” Fiorina added, lamenting the former Secretary of State’s accusations against Democratic rival Bernie Sanders earlier this year. In addition to playing the woman card, Fiorina said Hillary Clinton is “going to talk about the Republican ‘War on Women,'” which Fiorina says “doesn’t exist.”

“In fact, Hillary Clinton’s policies are bad for women,” Fiorina insisted. “But yes, Bill Clinton is fair game.”
