Fmr. Israeli Ambassador: Israel Doing ‘Superhuman’ Job Avoiding Civilian Casualties
In response to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest’s charge that “there is more [Israel] should do” to prevent civilian casualties in their strikes on Gaza, former Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren said the country was doing a “superhuman” job.
“There’s been no army in the history of warfare that has done more than Israel to avoid or minimize civilian casualties,” Oren said. “I personally take strong objection to the fact that we’re not doing enough. I think we’re doing a superhuman job to avoid casualties.”
“I wonder what published reports [the White House] is basing itself on,” Oren continued. “Are they basing themselves on Al Jazeera reports? Are they basing themselves on the United Nations, which is scarcely an objective source about the state of Israel?”
