Former Cruz Spox Rick Tyler Speaks Out on MSNBC in First Interview Since Firing

Screen Shot 2016-02-26 at 6.05.29 PMRick Tyler, the ex-Ted Cruz spokesman fired this week from the campaign, joined MSNBC today and gave his first interview since his firing to Chuck Todd.

You’ll recall that Tyler circulated a video erroneously claiming Marco Rubio dissed the Bible.

Tyler said he “made a judgment error” and felt terrible when he learned what Rubio actually said. Todd suggested that Tyler was just a “victim” of the fast news cycle and “got caught up in a social media firestorm.”

Tyler made it clear he’s not mad at the Cruz camp, saying they were just “disappointed” in him. He said that of course Rubio is a Christian, and he spoke of how important it is on the campaign trail not to lose one’s perspective.

Tyler also put on his new political analyst hat and talked a great deal about why Donald Trump is doing so well in the Republican party.
