Local Fox Anchor Tells Ted Cruz He Won’t Win New York
So, things aren’t looking too good for Ted Cruz in New York. The latest poll has Donald Trump winning 54% to Ted Cruz’s 21%. And now, even a local television anchor is flat out telling him, “You’re not at this point, going to win New York.”
It got especially heated when Cruz appeared on Fox 5’s Good Day NY with anchors Rosanna Scotto and Greg Kelly. They once again confronted him about the “New York values” statement. Scotto still seemed pretty miffed by what he said, and didn’t seem to buy Cruz’s explanation.
Scotto appeared to get a little uncomfortable when Cruz cornered her about whether she was a Mayor Bill de Blasio supporter. Here’s what happened:
Scotto: I have to say as a New Yorker, I’m still offended .. I think if you think long and hard about it (interrupted)
Cruz: Let me ask you, are you a Democrat?
Scotto: I’m an independent….
Cruz: Did you vote for Bill De Blasio?
Scotto: Uh, uh
Kelly: She doesn’t, but she can’t comment.
Scotto: You’ve gotten so much flack about New York values in New York. You are not, at this point, going to win New York. Do you wish you could take back what you said about New York values?
Cruz: Not remotely because the values of liberal Democratic politicians , the people of New York are suffering under them.
Cruz and Ms. Scotto appeared to agree to disagree on this one.
