Fox Business’ Gasparino: Two Publishers Have Already Passed on Don Jr.’s ‘Defense of Daddy’ Book
Fox Business Network’s Charles Gasparino is reporting that two big publishers have decided they don’t want to be the ones getting the book Donald Trump Jr. is shopping around.
A few weeks ago, Page Six reported that the President’s son has been hoping for a book deal, though it said it’s unclear what the book would be about.
Well, per Gasparino, the book is “being pitched as a defense of his father’s controversial tenure as president.
Or, as one of his sources put it, “a defense of daddy book.”
There is, of course, the Mueller elephant in the room. As Gasparino explained on air today:
“It doesn’t seem like he’s willing to provide much context on the Mueller probe, based on his conversations. One publisher said that, you know, he basically downplayed it all in the conversations, that it’s––he was flabbergasted that we’re still talking about all this stuff. I’m not kidding, that’s how it was described to me by someone with firsthand knowledge of these conversations.”
He noted the new developments about the Mueller probe and the false statement that we now know to have been dictated by the President despite the Trump team’s past legal denials.
Gasparino also noted that these “major” publishers are “skeptical” about a book defending Trump amid all of this controversy and scandal.
That being said, Trump’s book will probably get picked up by another publisher.
