Fox Business Host Compares Guns to Cheeseburgers: Won’t ‘Make You Fat Unless You Eat It’

Well, that is one way to look at it, I suppose.

During a Fox Business panel discussion on the Florida school shooting, Making Money host Charles Payne had an interesting take as far as gun control in the wake of the tragedy.

Having already brought up mental health evaluation and noting that there were a lot of warning signs that alleged shooter Nikolas Cruz would commit this atrocity, Payne went on to liken guns to…cheeseburgers?

Yep, cheeseburgers.

“I always look at guns as inanimate objects, right,’ Payne stated. “And it’s the people behind the gun — it’s just sort of, you know, like a cheeseburger does not make you fat unless you eat it.”

He continued, “You don’t want to simplify it but I think the focus, you know, the idea of taking guns away particularly from rightful gun owners goes too far. But then the middle ground here is folks will say an AR-15 is an assault rifle. Most hunters I know say no. It’s semi-automatic but there is a distinct difference.”
