Fox & Friends hosts reviewed a clip of Jay Carney telling Fox White House Correspondent Ed Henry that he was “offended” on behalf of his wife and daughter by Henry’s question about whether policy moves like minimum wage and overtime pay increases were plays to the Democratic base during a midterm year.
“You know what Jay Carney’s wife should be offended about, would be the fact that Barack Obama’s White House pays men more than women,” co-host Steve Doocy said. “The ‘War on Women’ starts at the White House…Women in the White House, in this White House make less than the men do. Are they talking about that? No.”
“They should be equally offended that the Vice President asked them to step out of the workplace when they have a baby and just take some time off, and who needs that job anyway?” Elisabeth Hasselbeck said. “That’s offensive.”
“I find that offensive that Jay Carney expects us to buy that he was offended,” Brian Kilmeade said. “Was he actually offended, or was he just trying to fend off another Ed Henry question?”
