Fox & Friends Hosts Mock Shutdown Fears, Blast Media for Casting GOP As Villains

On Tuesday, the hosts of Fox & Friends mocked the political press for covering the government shutdown with undue fear. They also attacked the media for uniformly casting the Republicans in Congress as the cause of the shutdown rather than entertain the idea that Democrats in Congress and the White House could have considered their proposals.

The Fox hosts began by mocking the impact a shutdown would have on the lives of average Americans. “My big question is, what is the NSA guy who monitors me going to do on his furlough?” Steve Doocy asked.

“I feel so free for a change,” Brian Kilmeade remarked.

Shifting focus to how the media is covering the shutdown, Kilmeade pointed to the cover of The Daily News which has cast Republicans in Congress as the villains.

“That is such an inappropriate headline,” Kilmeade observed of the Daily News calling the Republicans in the House a “House of Turds.”

“It’s just not accurate,” Elisabeth Hasselbeck added.

“The mainstream media, just like last time, just like this time, already torking it up,” Doocy observed.

The hosts played a clip of Fox News Channel Senior Political Analyst Brit Hume observing how the media has united in attacking the GOP for failing to give up their demands.
