Sometimes life imitates Saturday Night Live.
Take, for instance, this morning’s edition of Fox & Friends First, in which co-host Heather Childers had a bit of a flub and ended up calling the University of Connecticut Huskies the “NAACP national champs,” as opposed to, you know, the NCAA champs.
For those not in the know, the NAACP is the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. UConn beat the University of Kentucky on Monday evening to win the National Collegiate Athletics Association championship. So… oops.
But Childers did say it correctly the second time around.
UPDATE: The anchor later reacted on Twitter:
Thanks @Dave4Golf! I immediately corrected myself. Anyone who follows me knows I love sports. Just misspoke. Fuel 4 late night comics ;)
