comScore Sandra Smith Laments End of 'Decorum' Over Rashida Tlaib

Fox News Anchor on Democrat Cursing President: ‘I Just Wonder What This Says About Decorum…’

On Friday, Fox News’ Sandra Smith seemed to bemoan the decline of political decorum as she noted Rashida Tlaib (D-MI)’s profane comments about President Donald Trump.

The newly-sworn in congresswoman drew outrage from conservatives last night when she was caught on tape as she spoke about the president and said “we’re gonna impeach the motherfucker.” Smith brought up those comments during an interview with White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley, saying “I just wonder what this says about decorum in this new era of divided government and the new Congress?”

Gidley responded by grumbling about “name-calling” from Democrats and the “nasty, ridiculous, outrageous rhetoric” they’re engaging in instead of talking more about border security.

Tlaib, for her part, is standing by her statements. Fox has devoted a great deal of coverage to her comments today, though there hasn’t been as much about Trump’s impact on decorum and civility in discourse.
