You’ve got to give it to South Carolina’s Democratic chair Dick Harpootlian — the man makes for some entertaining television. Appearing on Fox News’ America Live Monday to discuss the most recent polling results out of his state, Harpootlian offered a… colorful, if unsavory take on Mitt Romney, particularly where the candidate’s history at Bain Capital is concerned.
Brad Blakeman, the former deputy assistant to President George W. Bush, attempted to, as he put it, “pull a Dick Harpootlian” by noting that one cannot make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, as the old saying goes.
“I think a sow’s ear into a silk purse,” Harpootlian replied, “is not really the comparison here for Mitt Romney. It’s the old political adage, it’s political alchemy, you cannot make chicken salad out of chicken doo doo.”
“And, by the way,” he added, “Mitt Romney is chicken doo doo.”
