Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld: ‘Why Was the Howling Media Triggered By’ Sinclair Mission Statement?

Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld said today the media is over-hyping the “idiotic story” about Sinclair having anchors make on-air statements decrying fake news.

A viral mash-up of anchors from dozens of Sinclair stations reciting it went viral over the weekend, but Gutfeld said, “Oh my, they were all saying the exact same thing. Who does that remind you of? Hollywood, the mainstream media, the late-night comics.”

He suggested people “shut up” and “read the actual script” because the statement is just “a call for balanced journalism” and nothing direct about Trump.

Gutfeld mocked CNN’s Brian Stelter again as “our nation’s hall monitor” for his concern about the message. Stelter, who initially reported weeks ago on the Sinclair statement, noted today how reporters at Sinclair-owned stations are also alarmed about how “uncomfortable” this all is.

Gutfeld continued, “Why was the howling media triggered by this? Well, maybe they feel threatened. People are seeing what they’re really about finally.”

Kimberly Guilfoyle agreed it was overblown, saying “it’s just journalists trying to do their job.”

Jesse Watters said CNN is “threatened” by it because “they know that the Sinclair piece was targeting a place like CNN.”
