Fox News’ Hemmer Presses DNC Chair on Tlaib Impeachment Comment: ‘It Sounds Personal’
Fox News’ Bill Hemmer pressed Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez Wednesday over Democratic Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib‘s controversial ‘impeach’ comments, insisting she did not give a real apology.
“Is this what Americans can expect from the House majority of the Democratic Party?” Hemmer asked, referring to Tlaib’s call to “impeach that motherf*cker” President Donald Trump.
After Perez defended Tlaib’s response, Hemmer interjected, “There was no apology there. I mean, she did say there was a distraction, but it sounds personal.”
Perez said he agreed with Tlaib, that the whole issue had become a distraction.
“Here’s the reality right now,” said Perez. “We have a culture of corruption that we have to address. We are addressing the issues of healthcare.”
Perez continued by describing the southern border crisis as a manufactured one.
“It’s distracting us from the tasks at hands,” which include reducing the costs of prescription drugs and making healthcare available to everyone, said Perez.
