Things got heated on Saturday after Fox News host Leland Vitert grilled Trumpian Ted Harvey on his hypocrisy.
It all started after playing a clip of President Donald Trump claiming the Inspector General report totally exonerates him.
Vitert asked if that was in the report, as Harvey read it.
“Well, I think what he’s trying to do is defend himself against the argument that James Comey should not have been fired. And certainly should have been and the whole investigation of bringing Robert Mueller in…. starting the entire investigation, is based on a false pretense,” Harvey replied. “That false pretense was that there was collusion and James Comey was the one that leaked to the press to force an independent investigation and bring Robert Mueller in to do this entire investigation. So yes, they are both tied because they lead to each other.”
Vitert asked then if that is the case, then why shouldn’t the entire investigation be brought to an end.
Harvey claimed there was “a lot of political fallout” involved if the Mueller probe was ended.
“Hold on,” Vitert snapped back, pointing out that Trump has said he doesn’t care about politics and is “willing to take on anybody,” something Harvey has actually praised POTUS for in the past.
Trump “is willing to say anything if he thinks is the right thing to do. The argument you just made said there’s no reason for the Robert Mueller investigation,” Vitert pressed. “You say the report proves that, why not just end it?”
Harvey tried to return to his political fallout claims, but Vitert was not having it.
“You can’t have it both ways!” Vitert replied, calling out his hypocrisy. “You’re saying he’s willing to go to the end but at the same time at every turn, he’s trying to discredit it. As are you for that matter when you come in here.”
The conversation just got more heated from there.
