Fox News’ Judge Napolitano Slams Judge in Manafort Trial: ‘Showing Extraordinary Bias Against the Gov’t’

The judge overseeing the Paul Manafort trial, U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis, has clashed with prosecutors in recent days. Yesterday was particularly heated in what Politico described as “a series of prickly clashes in which Ellis snapped at one of special counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors.”

Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano told Dana Perino that he found Rick Gates to be a convincing witness, while pointing out that everything that Gates did seems “an encyclopedic example of the swamp that President Trump said he would drain.”

“He had these two guys running his campaign! They were worse than anybody!” he added.

Perino asked Napolitano about Judge Ellis’ expressions of impatience, and it turns out he actually has some criticisms of the judge:

“I’m not happy with this judge. He’s making too much of the case about him and he’s showing an extraordinary bias against the government. If you feel that negatively about the government, you shouldn’t be on the case. Or you have to keep those feelings to yourself, not manifest them. You and I were talking during the break––the jury can’t be happy with this judge because of the snide, snarky comments.”
