Fox's Liz Trotta: Occupy Wall Street Message Is Like 'The Ravings Of The Unabomber'
The hits just keep on coming for the group of people staging a live-in on downtown Manhattan, “Occupy Wall Street.” They’ve been accused of being incoherent and childish, disorganized and silly, but on Fox News this afternoon, contributor Liz Trotta mocked them for simply being “people who like good weather” who spout off “the ravings of what sounds like the Unabomber.”
Trotta began her commentary on the matter tongue-in-cheek, advising “anyone that has a sense of humor left on this to go to OccupyWallStreet.org” and read their demands, which, to her, sounded like “the ravings of what sounds like the Unabomber.” “They have plenty of words to say,” she quipped, “but it’s unclear what they want.” That latter part she said with hesitation, as it has been a complaint repeated in the media ad nauseum. She also joked that many of the protesters were simply “people who like good weather,” and the event as a whole a “magnet for the disenchanted” no matter what it stood for, predicting it would be “co-opted by the left” and thus rendered meaningless. Not the warmest welcome the protesters have gotten from anyone in the media.
