Fox News’ Outnumbered Baffled By Giuliani’s ‘Collusion’ Claim: ‘Why Did You Speak?’
With so much attention paid to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani‘s claim that he “never said there was no collusion” between the campaign and Russia, it was only a matter of time before Fox News’ Outnumbered panel addressed this apparent backtracking.
Since Giuliani and President Donald rump have both claimed there was “no collusion” in the past, people are viewing Giuliani’s latest remarks and the attempts to walk them back as a concession about what happened with people who worked for Trump in 2016.
As Outnumbered discussed new reports that former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen‘s paid to have online polls rigged, Melissa Francis asked if new information is about to come out of the Russia probe, and if Giuliani’s CNN interview was a misfired attempt to get ahead of the story.
“He has a habit of saying these things that raise a lot of flags,” Francis said. “I think that’s been the conversation – what are we about to learn – he’s trying to clean it up, but the damage is done.”
Harris Faulkner added:
“My first question to Rudy Giuliani would be, ‘why did you speak?’ Is there a receipt out there? Did you feel pressure to come forth and deny but say that the president didn’t have anything to do with the campaign that had his name on it? What was the goal there?’ And then I would say what receipt he is looking at now that shows you still need to try and separate the president from his campaign?”
Faulkner concluded by suggesting that Giuliani should focus on separating Trump from the conduct within his campaign on this matter. Sean Spicer, former Trump press secretary and today’s #OneLuckyGuy, agreed that it’s “crucial” to note Giuliani’s role is to represent the president himself.
