Fox News’ Outnumbered Criticizes Melania For Controversial Jacket: ‘It Has to Be Contrived’
Even the folks on Fox News’ Outnumbered, who tend to give the Trump administration the benefit of the doubt, couldn’t see their way to defending the appalling fashion choice First Lady Melania Trump made to visit detained migrant children.
“That coat was such a distraction, and she had to know that and her team had to know that,” Abby Huntsman said.
“Maybe that is what they want and President Trump is actually telling the truth here,” Jessica Tarlov ventured. “He wins off of the fake news media cycle. That’s how he won this election, by saying all the elites are out to get me, they don’t report honestly, so he can now tweet for the next few days and say First Lady Melania was so kind and she went down there and she really cares about these kids and you’re only talking about her jacket.”
“That makes more sense than anything else,” Melissa Francis chimed in. “We watched her live on the couch yesterday, and she went out there, she asked great questions, she was very compassionate, it didn’t feel fake when you were watching her.”
“Later I saw this picture, and I was like wait a second, was that the same event? She wasn’t even wearing a jacket when I saw her,” she continued. “It has to be contrived. It has to be.”
