Fox News’ Outnumbered Debates How Much Trump Payments Matter: I Bet He Did This ‘Long Before’ Campaign Too

In a world where nothing seems to matter anymore, the hosts of Fox News’ Outnumbered debated today whether it matters that President Donald Trump paid to quash stories from Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal and then lied about it.

Melissa Francis said there’s the issue of whether Cohen told Trump the payment was illegal, before adding this:

“The other thing that undermines the case a lot is that I bet President Trump has done this before, and long before he was running for office. So to say it was a campaign contribution––if he’s done it before in the past, that undermines that case.”

She did add that this whole thing is “yucky” and it really seemed that Trump “lied about it.”

Lisa Boothe said Trump’s problem is less a legal one and more a political one, pointing to Democrats pushing for investigations and even impeachment.

David Webb, today’s #OneLuckyGuy, said this whole thing is about seeking “political damage against the president.”

Katie Pavlich brought up the problems with Cohen’s credibility before asking, “President Trump said on Air Force One he didn’t know anything about these payments. Now he’s admitting that he knew about these payments. Are people going to care about that? Does that really matter? Or is it going to be something that is lost in the talk about this situation?”

Boothe said this would probably be a different conversation if, say, this was Mike Pence they were talking about, agreeing with Francis that Trump has likely made such payments before.

Webb added, “The American people care more about the sexual harassment payout with taxpayer dollars when it comes to both sides of the aisle.”
