Fox News Panel Says Trump’s Wall is ‘Never Going Up’: He’s in For ‘Rough Ride’ If He Picks This Hill to Die On

Fox News’s Outnumbered is down on President Donald Trump‘s wall — predicting it’s not going to happen and that the president is in for a “tough ride” if he thinks otherwise.

As the partial government shutdown entered day five, Fox News’s Outnumbered debated the stalemate between Trump — who is demanding funding for a border barrier — and Democrats, who have refused to approve $5 billion for it.

Fox News anchor Julie Banderas kicked it off: “If the Republicans don’t give what the Democrats want, the shutdown is going to continued until January, then the Democrats take over, then Republicans have no chance of getting the border wall.”

“That’s what my question is, what happens next?” Fox Business host Kennedy asked. “If this is the hill that the president is going to die on politically, he’s in for a rough ride.”

Jessica Tarlov noted a possible solution to the shutdown could have been the offer from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) of $1.6 billion for “border security” — an offer Trump rejected.

Later in the show, the panel joked about House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi‘s (D-CA) mockery of Trump’s barrier as a “beaded curtain.”

Banderas then made a 2020 prediction: “The wall is never going up.”

“Mark my words,” she said. “First of all, there will not be the money.” Banderas laid out a series of reasons why the wall won’t be built, including the enormous cost of buying up land on the border.

“I don’t care if you call it a slat, a fence, a wall — it’s not happening,” Banderas added.
