Fox News’ Shannon Bream Dings Gov. Cuomo For Saying He’s ‘Undocumented’: I’m ‘Legitimately Confused’
Fox News anchor Shannon Bream and politics editor Chris Stirewalt piled on New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for remarks he made in defense of illegal immigrants.
Last week, the Democratic governor proclaimed the following in a speech:
“I’m undocumented! You want to deport an undocumented person, start with me because I am an undocumented person!”
Well, Bream was quite puzzled by what he had to say.
“I’m just truly legitimately confused about that because he has a birth certificate, he was born here, his parents were here,” Bream reacted. “I’m not sure where he’s going with that.”
Stirewalt attempted to hop in Cuomo’s shoes by explaining that he was expressing his solidarity with illegal immigrants, but it didn’t take long for him to blast the politician.
“We should start with the understanding that Andrew Cuomo is, by my estimation, perhaps the most overrated politician in American politics and government today,” Stirewalt said. “The hype that has surrounded him because the love for his father, he inherited the press and Democrats of a certain kind had a huge reverence for his dad. A lot of it carried over to him. He is not a good campaigner. He has not been a particularly successful governor.”
He did concede however that he didn’t think Cuomo’s Democratic primary rival, actress Cynthia Nixon was going to beat him, noting her lack of support among minority voters.
