Fox News Shows Rare, Behind-the-Scenes Videos to Mark 18th Anniversary

Today Fox News celebrates its 18th anniversary on the air, and to mark the occasion, America’s Newsroom showed off some rare, behind-the-scenes video of Fox chairman and CEO Roger Ailes and the studio construction before the top cable news channel in the country went to air.

Fox News Channel officially began airing on October 7, 1996. (Fun fact: The Nickelodeon show Hey Arnold! debuted on the same day.) Today we got to see a look back at cable news history, with some behind-the-scenes footage of Ailes himself showing off the building back in 1996, not to mention the actual construction of the Fox News newsroom.

Today also marks the one-year anniversary of Fox News’ current primetime line-up, and in celebration the cable network took out an ad to tout big ratings victories in Q3 2014.
