Fox Pulls Sunday's New Episode Family Guy In Wake Of School Shooting

Fox has pulled this Sunday’s new episodes of its popular animated series Family Guy and American Dad and replaced them with repeats.

A network source indicated to The Hollywood Reporter that the decision came in wake of the violent shootings in Newtown, Conn., that left 20 children and 7 adults dead. To avoid airing any potentially sensitive content, the network replaced its new “Animation Domination” series episodes with repeats that don’t contain such content.

However, brand-new episodes of the network’s other animated shows The Cleveland Show, The Simpsons, and Bob’s Burgers will still air as planned.

The Futon Critic points out that this is not the first time Fox has delayed new episodes of its animated shows in the wake of tragic events. In April 2011, a hurricane-themed crossover episode of Family Guy and American Dad was postponed after the infamous tornado breakout across the American South that month.
