Fox Reporter: Chattanoogans Asking Why White House Flags Aren’t at Half-Staff

Fox News reporter John Roberts said on America’s Newsroom that residents of Chattanooga are voicing their displeasure that the American flag flying over the White House had not been flown at half-staff following the murder of five Marines last Thursday.

On scene in Chattanooga, Roberts reported on the heart-warming shows of support he’d seen from residents. “Across Chattanooga and the area… we’re seeing signs, big electronic billboards, saying ‘Chattanooga Strong.’ All the flags are at half-staff here.”

“And a lot of people in Chattanooga are questioning; if flags are half-staff here, why are they not at half-staff at the White House?”

President Barack Obama has ordered the White House flags lowered to half-mast in the case of other tragedies, including the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, the 2013 Navy Yard shooting, and the death of Democratic Senator Ted Kennedy.
