Fox Takes Out Ad Touting Historic Ratings Victory 1 Year into New Primetime Lineup

Today is the 18th anniversary of Fox News, and the cable network will celebrate the occasion with a few ads running this week touting the network’s recent ratings victories among all cable television.

As we reported last week, Fox News finished first for Q3 2014 in weekday primetime viewers, beating cable powerhouses like USA and ESPN.

That victory is the impetus for the below ad, which is running in AdWeek:

That historic victory comes one year into Fox’s biggest primetime reshuffle, in which Megyn Kelly took over the 9 p.m. slot with Sean Hannity moving to 10 p.m. and Greta Van Susteren moving to 7 p.m.

Since debuting in October 2013, The Kelly File has experience the most growth of any program in cable news, (36% in total viewers, 27% in the 25-54 demo). Year-over-year quarterly comparisons also show growth for On the Record with Greta Van Susteren (16% in total viewers, 8% in demo), 8 p.m. mainstay The O’Reilly Factor (6% total, 11% demo), and Hannity (14% total, 24% demo).
