President Obama‘s swipe at Fox News for its slanted coverage of the poor really angered everyone at Fox this week, but Jon Stewart found it pretty spot-on. He called out the cable network for its “rich buffet of bullshit” in expressing outrage at Obama, when––as Stewart demonstrated through various montages––they’ve actually done what the president said.
Well, Eric Bolling (a frequent Stewart feuder) fired back on Cashin’ In this morning. He said it’s wrong for Obama to “blame Fox News for the parasites you’ve enabled,” and argued that Fox doesn’t “begrudge poor people who are struggling” just to get by.
He then turned to Stewart, who he called a “schoolyard bully” and trotted out stats about food stamp abuse. Bolling then took a shot at Stewart over his impending retirement, suggesting he should watch more Fox in his free time to “actually learn something.”
When Stewart and Bolling had this fight last year, Stewart made it clear he’s not discounting the waste, fraud, and abuse that goes on, just that he and Fox “exaggerate the scope of public assistance abuse through random, often-unprovable anecdotes.”
