Fox’s Bolling: We Sacrificed Thousands in Middle East, ‘What Do We Have to Show for It?’

The Five‘s Eric Bolling admitted today he’s gotten lots of flak on Twitter over his position on U.S. involvement in the Middle East, and maintained that he thinks the United States needs to just get out of the region by any means necessary because we’ve been there for over a decade, thousands have died, and “what do we have to show for it?”

He said the best way to stay out is by becoming completely independent of Middle Eastern oil, so if the U.S. just fracks and drills more, “we are done with those cockroaches forever.” Kimberly Guilfoyle actually pushed back on that “naive” mindset, and Tom Shillue suggested it’s more about America’s place in the world.

Bolling said getting out of the Middle East is a win-win situation for both sides, and when Guilfoyle continued to call that a naive view, Bolling pushed back:

“We’ve been losing tens of thousands of bodies to injury, to death, to a trillion dollars in wars, and what do we have to show for it?… Let ’em have the freaking Middle East. Keep it. It’s all yours.”

(He did single out Israel as the exception, though.)

Juan Williams leaped to Bolling’s defense and told the others, “I can’t believe you’re attacking Eric for being rational.”
