Fox’s Bret Baier: We Love Judge Napolitano, But We Haven’t Been Able to ‘Back Up Those Claims’

Fox News anchor Bret Baier, hours after public remarks from Shep Smith, also addressed the international controversy over the White House repeating a claim from the network’s own Judge Andrew Napolitano over alleged GCHQ surveillance of President Trump last year.

Despite Napolitano reporting on this citing three sources, Smith emphasized today that what the Fox senior judicial analyst said was “commentary.” And Baier said the following to begin the panel portion of Special Report tonight:

“We love the judge, we love him here at Fox, but the Fox News division was never able to back up those claims and was never reported on this show.”

Baier went to the panel to discuss the fallout from this wiretapping issue being out there for two weeks now. Charles Krauthammer said this is just a “farce” now because everyone’s chasing their tails on something we all know isn’t true but are “pretending it might be.” Just because the president is the one who made the claim.
