Fox’s Cavuto Brings on Hannity to Defend Him: You’ve Asked Trump ‘Edgy’ Questions

cavuto hannityFox News’ Neil Cavuto brought on colleague Sean Hannity this afternoon to basically defend him amid the blowback from his anger at Ted Cruz.

To recap: Hannity has been accused by some in the media (including plenty on the right) of being in the tank for Donald Trump. Hannity’s vociferously denied this, but he blew up at Cruz for getting agitated with his delegate questions and the accusations got new life.

Cavuto told Hannity he’s asked “edgy” questions of Trump and asked him how he copes with people accusing him of being in the tank. Hannity insisted he’s a strong conservative who is #NeverHillary first, and seemed to conflate his conservative critics with the mainstream media by saying the people going after him are the same ones who “never asked Obama” about his past.

Cavuto told Hannity “you can’t win” with ardent supporters of any candidate, telling him “you get and elicit a great deal of news” with his interviews (that seems to be a direct response to ThinkProgress’ piece “How Sean Hannity Managed To Interview Trump 41 Times And Never Once Made News”).

Hannity said he has a “pretty thick skin” and has given both candidate enough time to make their respective cases.
